Hey people!

Just a quick posting about all the great things that are happening at WoodMoss.

First thing we should say is that we have finally wrote up our catalogue in all it's beauty and glory! Yes, a pretty A5 digital or actual catalogue of all our products, with descriptions and usages, is now in existence! If anyone would like a copy please email us at woodmoss.herbals@gmail.com (if you would like a paper copy please just email us your address as well!)

We're also about to embark on something new and exciting to us, going online!
WoodMoss is about to supply a new pagan supply store online. It is called DreamStone Pagan Supplies and is set up by our good friend Paul Greenslade.
Of course they are still in the process of setting it all up, but this is the website www.dreamstonepagansupplies.co.uk
So it is now even easier to buy WoodMoss products where ever you are in the world!

We're in the midst of contemplating where we might have a stall at festivals etc, a few ideas are Wallingford's Bunkfest (Back home for Wood!), and a couple of Pagan shopping events! If you have any ideas where you would like to see us please shout!

Anyway, back to making up the herbal products that are becoming quite well known indeed!!!

So, I think we haven't posted a little blog here for a while nor updated any one! We're still answering our MySpace messages and checking it semi regularly.

The new Autumn ranges of Wood-Moss products are now in store (Treadwell's Covent Garden, London)... The store was recently featured in the Independant in a large double page spread. It was sporting a brilliantly massive photo of the stunning owner, Dr Christina Oakley-Harrington, although I haven't pinned down a copy to read yet I have seen it!

The Autumn range of Wood-Moss includes many more incenses to the range, not only do we now have nearly all the Paracelsus planetary talismantal consecration incenses instore (a range of seven planetary corresponded incenses, originally made to consecrate talismans) we are now starting to trickle in Agrippa grimoire incense recipes! I believe the Agrippa Moon incense is there already!
We also have started to do one of the original French Four Thieves Vinegar recipes, which is now in teh store. This recipe was taken from a late 1700s reciept book, and is used to ward off the plague (or physical sickness) as well as any psychic attacks, curses, bad magic, used to break habits, rid negative influences out of your life, or to banish things. It can also be used as a general 'aura' or space cleanser. I'm personally putting it in my pre-ritual baths!

Mayday was stocks are still quite good... we were panicking about not having made enough on mayday. But I think it should at least see us over the Christmas period! best grab a bottle now though!

We have also started to do new labels! yes, the logo is hte same, the style is the same, the difference is that inside the label there is information about hte product you are buying! Two little sides of a suggested way to use it (althoguh be inventive and report back to us!) and a little bit of history and what the product is. We think this will help when picking up a product for the first time, it gives you an easy starting point with that product.
Unfortunately. I haven't quite got the knack of the labels on the Abramelin Oils that we do, and you cannot open up the label to read inside until you take off the oil bottle! I'll figure out someway of doing it soon, I'm sure!

We are also doing a few limited special Halloween/Samhain packs! for those of you that are lucky to get your hands on one when they are in store, they are a wooden box containing a few products and a detailed booklet listing various ways of using them on Halloween. The selection of products was hard, but the combination of them gives a few possibilities for usage. We'll post again when they are in store... but it looks like we've already sold one!! :S

Anyway, this was just a quick post to say 'We live on!!!'... I wont post about everything we have up our sleeve, but please email us and bother us for information about what we have in store, or how to order various things!
And I'll just quickly hint at an extra special day in December we have planned, and leave it at that!

Hope everyone is well, and looking forward to Samhain as much as we are here!!!

To everyone, happy Midsummer!!!

And it's been a bit of a wet one! well, at least we had a downpour here in Oxfordshire whilst one of the team was busy playing rounders with friends!!

And yes, it is the time to be picking your herbs and gathering up some herby goodness to use in brews and potions! The sun is starting to set, and I'm trying to figure out what to pick in the area. No doubt Moss has already collected an array of delights for blending and brewing!
I think collecting some evening primrose maybe a good idea to store in some sunflower oil till it's needed.

So what has just hit the shelves?! it's the Crowley oil!!!! an oil to be reckoned with!
It is based off the Mathers' Abramelin oil, but with some very key distinctions!
One; it is made from pure essential oils. Thus it is not wise to put near the eyes (high concentration of volatile Cinnamon oil not a good thing!!). it is also wise to be careful with it if you have sensitive skin!!
Two; Different proportions
Three; Crowley put a lot of meaning into the Abramelin oil. as you can see below:
"This oil is compounded of four substances. The basis of all is the oil of the olive. The olive is, traditionally, the gift of Minerva, the Wisdom of God, the Logos. In this are dissolved three other oils; oil of myrrh, oil of cinnamon, oil of galangal. The Myrrh is attributed to Binah, the Great Mother, who is both the understanding of the Magician and that sorrow and compassion which results from the contemplation of the Universe. The Cinnamon represents Tiphereth, the Sun -- the Son, in whom Glory and Suffering are identical. The Galangal represents both Kether and Malkuth, the First and the Last, the One and the Many, since in this Oil they are One. [...] These oils taken together represent therefore the whole Tree of Life. The ten Sephiroth are blended into the perfect gold." (Crowley, Magick, Book 4)

Crowley also said of the oil that "the oil consecrates everything that is touched with it; it is his aspiration; all acts performed in accordance with that are holy".

This version of the oil is also used in the recipe for 'cakes of light' that are given out at the Gnostic Mass (EGC -- Ecclesiastica Gnostica Catholica). This is quite important to note out as the early recipes (Dehn and Exodus) are slightly toxic and cannot be used in such a manner.

There is also Selene incense at the store!!! yays!

Hope to see some of you soon, and as always you can buy any of our products at our exclusive stockists 'Treadwell's Bookshop' of London. For any information, catalogs of our products, and price lists feel free to email us. And any order through post, please do email us!

All the best,

Hello everyone!!!

I just thought I would do a quick posting as so many wonderful things are happening.

First of all, our exclusive London stockists (Treadwell's Bookshop) are giving a wonderful talk tonight on Grimoires. This talk is absolutely a compliment about what we do here at Wood-Moss, and will give you a basic understanding about a few of the cool places we grab our recipes from! May those attending be entranced by the dark allure of these texts as we have been...
I believe the talk is fully booked, although I hear there might be a repeat of it at another date. It may be worth trying to book this one and asking to be put on this talk the next time it surfaces!
The talk is given by Treadwell's own Dr Christina Oakley-Harrington, who's PhD is in History and is an ideal candidate to talk about these texts. This should be a fun and light hearted talk, which touches on the beauty of these 'dark books'! :)
The Wood-Moss team will be in attendance!!! feel free to drop by and say hello!
Treadwell's Phone: 0207 240 8906
Treadwell's Email: info@treadwells-london.com

Also should be pointed out that a new batch of Selene incense has been 'enchanted' and shall hopefully be on the Wood-Moss shelf of Treadwell's by this evening!!
By looks of our stock lists, we are running low on Abramelin incense (Dehn & Mathers) and a couple of other things... these shall appear hopefully by the end of the week, at teh latest the weekend!

Hope everyone is well, healthy and fumigated!

Paul

TThe best selling product at the moment seems to be Selene Incense, and the Dehn's Abramelin Incense.

So I thought it was best to write a little post about both of these two items.

Selene Incense )
Abramelin Incense - Dehn )

Well, I hope that has interested you all as a small taster of the products of Wood-Moss. Next post will be assured to be a lighter one of the goings on behind the scenes...

Hope everyone is well!!!

Wood-Moss team

P.S. This information is to the best of my knowledge accurate. Any factual mistakes in the above were completely accidental, as this post was composed without research to refer to. However, one should treat this not as an academic essay but as the introduction that it was intended to be. W-M

We've been so busy behind the scenes that we are thoroughly looking forward to our launch date!!! If you haven't booked, then book NOW!!!

here are the details )

We've been up to our arms in herbs, mud, and various types of water at all hours of morning, day and night... we've spent hours talking about whale vomit and the territorial sex pods of various animals... there have been days spent turning pages of books in various libraries...
Finally we have the first end in sight!

No, not the end of our muddy fingers, lack of sleep, and strange subjects of conversation, BUT the end of the preparation and the start of being able to supply the products to people!!!

Oh yes, it doesn't get any better...

... well, okay... it does mean we can finally go out occasionally on Saturday nights like regular adults at least...

Hope to see you guys soon,

Paul
