BioThis is the livejournal of the Wood-Moss Herbals duo!
It is an online blog of what is happening with us, and our business to give you an inside glimpse into the glamourous lives of Herbalism (okay... okay... I exaggerate slightly!).
Wood-Moss Herbals aims to make accessible the rich tradition of European herbalism through our products. Each recipe used is researched and pulled from historic sources making each bottle, jar, or package an item of convenient history. Wood-Moss have spent countless hours researching (and continue to do so) on how to make the products we sell so that our customers are able buy and use them.
The products were primarily aimed at those that seek well thought, and historically accurate products made from the correct ingredients which history has proved time and time again. From there it expanded…
Wood-Moss have a horrid habit of never doing something ‘half-way’!! The team have therefore created a range of daily use products (such as face washes, angelic waters, and even perfumes & colognes!), and ‘Curiosities’ (Such as love charms) that have also been taken from the history books!
Our work is an on-going project, and as we find them we will be adding new recipes to the range. So watch this space!
Wood-Moss feels that these products are as useful today as they were centuries ago. From the beautifying waters of the distilleries to the incenses and perfumes of old, they all can be used today as they were hundreds of years ago. They also feel that these recipes have only been accessible to those with the patience to sift through the libraries, and find the various books. This is now no longer the case.
As you will see from our blog, the ingredients and herbs are as often as possible collected by hand from various parts of the countryside...
So take a stroll and browse amongst the various curious bottles of the Wood-Moss team and see what we are brewing up next!
